Mayfield Fund latest to join bandwagon to China

mayfield.jpgMayfield Fund, the well-known Menlo Park venture capital firm, said it has made investments into three Chinese technology companies, the first results of the firm’s partnership with a Beijing-based Chinese venture firm, GSR Ventures. Mayfield is the latest in a string of Silicon Valley firms to increase its activities in China.

The firm said it has led investments in SMIT, a fabless semiconductor manufacturer of modules for digital televisions; Mobert, a manufacturer of semiconductors for mobile applications; and Heiyou, an online matchmaking company.
