Here’s our piece in the Mercury News about Michael Arrington, the 35-year-old ex-lawyer who has become a go-to guy for Web 2.0 companies wanting to get their message out. This is much overdue, of course. But this guy only blew onto the scene in June or so of last year and so we are not that late.

And by waiting, we gave him enough time to see his blog/barbecues hit full stride. More than 20,000 daily readers go to his TechCrunch blog, something we verified, by the way, when Michael graciously gave us permission to get stats from one of his advertising partners. Anyone know whether that’s record growth for a new blog?

Anyway, here’s a succinct bio, and “five other things” to know about him.

Next barbecue is coming in February, but we’ll let Michael announce that on his own time. This one will fill up fast, so on your marks, get set….
