Next Internet: a new, local Net incubator

“Next Internet creates, builds and operates Internet businesses. Most of our companies are based on ideas we generate internally, although from time to time we consider ideas brought to us by other entrepreneurs or acquire interests in existing Internet companies.”

So says this web site we stumbled across last night. The Silicon Valley company says it’s in stealth, but plans “to build 15 Internet companies in the next 36 months.”

“Next Internet will work with entrepreneurs, side by side, to locally optimize the current opportunity – your work, your blood, your sweat.”

The “well-funded” company says it is incubating “a next generation Internet Ad Network” and is hiring execs.

Absolutely great business idea. Never seen before. I'll do the same and send my B-plan to some Investors, heehee... :-)) it's so killingly funny. Regards from good old Germany.

i believe a former netblue exec is behind this.

Doesn't this signify the beginning of the end? Again...

You should look into this, Michael. If you have ever met the man behind this, Ken Chan I believe, you would know it is worth the time. Definitely has the aura of Bill Gross and some very real world experience growing these niche businesses successfully.

Job openings-- two technical, six non-technical? *Bubble* cough *bubble* woooo...
  • Damn these guys are lame. They stole Flock's entire user interface AND code:

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the concept. An incubator is the perfect home for many of these web-based "2.0", Ajaxian services which may have some decent value but don't make sense as standalone companies.

Jeff, I think the point is that the incubator provides all the non-technical support and overhead.

Who needs the VC's to make all the money when entrepreneurs do all of the work? I think their model makes sense.
  • SR
They're not really a VC/incubator. They "own" the companies and everyone who works there are simply employees sharing in a small stock option pool.
