Kleiner's new partner, Ying Lee

It is always worth watching what Silicon Valley’s well-known venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins is up to, because its past reputation (for backing Google, etc) means it gets to see many of the best deals first.

So here’s an update on Ying Lee, a new “team member” at the firm. After we noticed Lee in Kleiner’s documents a few weeks ago, we’d asked Kleiner Perkins about who she was, but never got any info. Now she’s on the KP website. She is former deputy general manager of UTStarCom’s IPTV business unit, and before that was director of biz dev and sales at Ikanos.

(Thanks, Dan Primack, for the tip. Turns out, this is not the former U.S. rep staff aide he originally guessed).
