Venture capitalists to pour more money into Asia, and green technologies

nvcalogo.bmpA survey of more than 200 venture capitalists about trends next year suggests two, somewhat unsurprising trends: Investments will boom in 1) China and India, and 2) clean-tech.

They survey, conducted by the National Venture Capital Association, found the following: 1) VCs are looking at buyout firms to purchase their portfolio companies; and 2) VCs believe fewer VC firms will operate in 2007. We note, however, that predictions of consolidation in the industry have been around a long time. With money still gushing into the sector, we’ll believe this last forecast only when we see it come true.

Here is the survey (downloads pdf file).
