I don't trust Boxbe. I think they are just out to make a buck off the user that signs up for their service. This kind of "we're out to help the consumer" posturing makes me sick.

The concept is DEAD ON. Only economic friction can step the tide of sludge that gums up the medium. Becuase email is so free and universally available, the economics has been been the missing component since day one! But...

Gee. The Boxbe execution plan sounds so familiar. Can anyone say "Goodmail" or "Bonded Sender Program?!"

--And what about Vanquish Labs? They are probably the only ones with the IP, the awards, the resources and the contacts to pull this off. With all the recent mergers, partnerships and spin offs of wanabees (Symantec/Birghtmail, Return Path/IronPort, Cisco/IronPort, AOL/Goodmail), I wonder why Vanquish is keeping such a low profile. Look at the conferences -- They wrote the book.

Matt,

Having seen the spamming industry from all perspective, spammers are no where close to ever being able to pay 25cents/mail and continue to be in business.

Typically, they must send out million or two mails to just earn one sale(ie. $10-40 comission).
