RFID co., Alien, gets new CEO

Alien Technology, the radio frequency identification company, said it has appointed George W. Everhart as chief executive, filling a void left after former CEO Stav Prodromou left the position when the company pulled its IPO plans.

Everhart has held executive positions at 3Com, Fujitsu and Apple. Alien is based in Morgan Hill, Calif.

Nimsoft, a Redwood City company that provides an IT and application management service, said it has raised $10.3 million in funding from JMI Equity and Northzone Ventures.

The Santa Clara memory designer of chips, GSI Technology, which provides SRAM chips for networking and telecommunications equipment, has filed to raise $57.5 million in an IPO.
