Love on the Web

goog.bmpLooking for love and not finding it?

If you’re searching online, females have a slight advantage: Visitors to dating sites overall are 50.8 percent male and 49.2 percent female, according to an analysis of 100 dating websites by Hitwise.

So guys, here is where you have an advantage:

Love Access — 87.4 percent female visitors.
SeniorPeopleMeet.com — more than 70 percent female
CatholicMatch.com — more than 70 female
Don’t Date Him Girl! — more than 70 percent female, though not sure you want to be here
EHarmony.com — 68.6 percent female, and received the largest market share of visits for the week ending February 10, 2007

Largest percentage of male visitors:

ManHunt.com, Adam4Adam.com, Gay.com (gay sites)
AnastatiaWeb.com, FilipinaHeart.com and Globaladies.com (American men and foreign brides)

GigaOm lists some mobile flirting/dating sites:

Jumbuck’s Fast Flirting — Company says it has more than 40,000 unique users logged in at any given time
MeetMoi — Users text their location to the company’s short code ’94810,’ and the service connects you with people nearby
Webdate Mobile — Have to pay; this crowd is motivated
Match.com Mobile — Match.com, only mobile

So if you don’t have a date tonight, there’s still hope!

Notably, even SF Ivy Leaguers are having trouble finding dates, and some are apparently shunning the Internet for boutique help.
