Google role in online piracy

google.jpgMore details are emerging about how Google employees reportedly helped a company promote pirated software and movies.

Google’s employees recommended an advertisement campaign built around key words referring to pirated software, according to a court affidavit. The Mercury News has the story, and details:

…a Google employee suggested they advertise the availability of pirated copies of movies such as Batman Begins and Cinderella Man…..”The movie names were never requested by Internet Billers,” the men stated in court papers, referring to an off-shore company they had established on the Caribbean island of Nevis. “They were suggested by Google.”
