Heart monitor Monebo Tech raises funds

Monebo Technologies, an Austin, Tex., maker of cardiac-monitoring equipment, raised an undisclosed sum (PDF link) in a second funding round. Fairway Medical Technologies, a portfolio company of BCM Technologies, the venture capital subsidiary of Baylor College of Medicine, led the round.

Monebo makes and sells noninvasive heart-monitoring technology, including the somewhat dorky-looking CardioBelt (see below), which is actually worn across the chest. The CardioBelt can communicate its real-time data wirelessly, which allows patients to move around freely.
