Barracuda, email anti-spam company, buys firewall company NetContinuum
Barracuda Networks Inc., a Campbell, Calif. maker of email and Internet anti-spam appliances, said it has acquired NetContinuum, a provider of Web application firewalls, for an undisclosed amount.
Here’s the announcement.
Over six years, NetContinuum had raised about $80 million. It was restarted in 2005, with an infusion of capital from from Adams Street Partners, Entrepia Ventures, Invus Group, Menlo Ventures and Palomar Ventures. Other investors include MKS Ventures, NIF Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital.
Barracuda Networks is backed with $40 million from Sequoia Capital and Francisco Partners.
