Technology to let machines drive cars is six to eight years away — all of a sudden you’ve doubled the capacity of the U.S. highway system.

Is that a GOOD idea? I don't think so for many reasons. Doubling the number of cars will increase our dependence on the Middle East for oil, increase our balance of trade deficit, increase greenhouse gases,...

Instead we should focus on getting people out of cars which will reduce our dependence on the Middle East for oil, reduce our balance of trade deficit, reduce greenhouse gases,...

Oil is haded to $100/barrel and beyond because other nations are consuming more oil. The dollar is tanking vs. the Euro (1999:$.90/euro, 2007:$1.43/Euro). Deficits and trade imbalances matter. Buffet is right. Cheney is wrong. More oil consumption is not the solution. Hydrogen is not the solution. Bring back the trains on the Bay Area bridges. The right to drive is not guarenteed in the constitution.

Fix the Bay Area mass transit disaster. There are ~50 different Bay Area mass transit government organizations. It takes too long to go from A to B in the Bay Area. Someone should start a company to build scheduling software to coordinate the different agencies schedules and measure their performance to the schedule.

With respect to Yieldbuild, on what basis do you state that, "It’s not hard to imagine Rubicon replicating YieldBuild’s functions but it is hard to imagine it going the other way around?"

Is that based on talking to the respective company's customers? A briefing with Yieldbuild's management? Talk to Paul, the CEO, and then make the call.
