I was a heavy user of Yahoo Finance from 1998 - 2004 but the message boards simply spiraled out of control. Once I detached from those and it became a data game, I found myself searching for and using other alternatives.

Discussion/community is a major "sticky" point that YF has now lost.

Regards,
George

Very good story. Highly accurate and insightful.

Yahoo, as a whole, is sinking because, in its haste to tap rich media, it has slowed access to, and downloading of, its Websites and e-mail, and users have been flocking to Google in droves.

Now, whethr or not AOL succeeds will depend on its policies...it has lost customers over the years because you couldn't uninstall AOL if you purchased a computer with AOL preinstalled on your hard drive.
