Unidym, which is a subsidiary of Nasdaq-traded Arrowhead Research (ARWR), makes carbon nanotubes for the electronics industry.

The company, based in Menlo Park, Calif., makes products that are used in display panels, lightning and photovoltaic cells, among other equipment.

Arrowhead provided $3 million of the total $10.4 million, with the remainder coming from Battelle Memorial Institute, Tokyo Electron Ventures and several undisclosed investors. [via VentureWire ]
