Hello David,
Great timing! I was just working on a response to the PTO on one of our patent applications. You might be interested to know that Cantimer has licensed exclusive rights to five ISSUED US patents covering the Cantimer sensor technology.
1 7,168,294 Embedded piezoelectric microcantilever sensors
2 6,854,317 Embedded piezoelectric microcantilever sensors
3 6,823,717 Hybrid microcantilever sensors
4 6,523,392 Microcantilever sensorAdditionally we have a number of follow on applications pending.
1 20070119236 Embedded piezoelectric microcantilever sensors
2 20060053871 Embedded piezoelectric microcantilever sensors
3 20040211243 EMBEDDED PIEZOELECTRIC MICROCANTILEVER SENSORS
4 20040194534 HYBRID MICROCANTILEVER SENSORS
5 20030010097 MICROCANTILEVER SENSORAlong with several others that are not yet published.
As you note, previously I was at Raychem and them founded Landec Corporation (Menlo Park) and Bay Materials, (Menlo Park). During this time the following patents of mine were issued.
You have probably eaten fresh produce packaged in the types of breathable films we commercialized and most likely the corn in your tortilla (serioulsy) was produced using seed coating sold through Landec (recently purchased by Monsanto).
All those were fun, but the hydration measurement opportunity OMHO has the potential to blow them all away.
If you want any further information on what we are doing, feel free to ask. It is excting and we are having lots of fun!
Best Wishes and hope you had a great holiday period.
