Very cool...interestingly enough, someone in the private beta also created http://www.openhulu.com to allow people without invites to view all the content. Not sure how long the site will stay up, though.

Hulu has done a really good job, it's a good viewing experience. Someone made a cool Facebook app to watch hulu through Facebook and chat with your friends while you're doing it: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=6443058041
An interesting experience.

Launched last week? I thought that it was in beta for several months now. Got my invite a month ago.

I really like Hulu. But can it make money? The real challenge to internet television broadcasting is the high cost of streaming - especially unicast. Hulu does inject advertising into the programming, but is it enough to cover their cost?

The real future is in paid television delivered over ip. Zipityzap is an internet television portal which will aggregate hundreds of programmers all under one roof (on a common platform). This will allow CDN streaming services to be purchased in bulk. At build-out, this should equate to about $.05 per hour.
