deCODEme does let you download your data. You can use it to make a custom report based on SNPedia. The tool is described here

Mike, thanks for your comment. I hope I was clear enough that I also expect the service to improve over time; I was just surprised that there seems to be so little there there right now. In any case, your point about getting your relatives genotyped while you can is certainly a good one; I hope the service meets your expectations.

Since your kits are still on the way, this probably doesn’t apply to you, but if anyone else reading has already seen their deCODEme genotype and has a spare moment or two, I’d be very curious to know how closely the demo user — link here — matches what paying customers see.

I signed up for deCODEme, primarily because my grandparents are quite old and if I want to know anything about their DNA, I need to find out sooner rather than later. If I wait for more disease links or affordable complete genome sequencing, I’ll lose my opportunity to know anything concrete about their DNA in comparison to my own or my children. The deCODEme kit is on its way for myself, another family member, and my grandparents. I chose deCODE because I assume they have a lot more experience and, for the time being, a lot more data to draw upon than any of these other companies. I fully anticipate that they will continue to improve their web-based analysis, as will all the other companies that are offering similar services.
