Rebel Monkey is a New York-based casual gaming startup founded by Nick Fortugno, the lead designer of the original Diner Dash, and Margaret Wallace, former head of Skunk Studios.
The company is so far keeping its plans close to its chest, saying only that it plans to offer “community-centric casual game experiences”.
Redpoint Ventures led the $1 million financing round, the company’s first.

I’ve been following the indie game scene for a while, and while casual games certainly aren’t the best it has to offer, it is nice to see this sort of thing happening.

The interesting thing with casual web is that it is very easy for a developer to take a greater control, and not just develop and let some giant publisher take all the money and upside.
Any how, it’s going to be interesting to see how Kongregate, Multigames.com etc will positioner them selfs.
