Pax Streamline is a spinoff of larger company Pax Scientific, which makes designs based on natural occurences like the shape of a leaf or phenomena like whirlpools. Such designs can often give a boost to performance or efficiency.

The funding was reported last week by CNET, which noted that investor Khosla Ventures was unwilling to talk about the company. An unnamed source said that the company had taken $6 million in a first round of funding, with an equal amount available based on meeting milestones.

Newer Khosla partner Ford Tamer made the investment at least a month ago, based on a release that from early February that listed him as a board member at the company.
