Folks, as VentureBeat expands into new territory, we’re looking for great people to join us on the way.

Recently, we took first steps to focus on certain topics, including digital media and clean tech, creating tabs for these. Now we’re looking to 1) create some focused events around those topic areas, and so are looking for an event planner. We’re also looking to 2) find writers who can help cover more areas, including mobile, and 3) hire a tech genius, who can help build out our web site and devise and implement other parts of an upcoming technology component of the site.

Event Planner

We’re looking for a professional event planner who can handle the entire process of large-scale event planning. This person should have extensive experience in logistics planning for events; ideally this person will have a sense of the technology/business sectors that VentureBeat operates in and would be able to help guide the development of the event’s content and focus. You will need to handle speaker sourcing, speaker management, sponsor management, marketing, logistics planning and all the other aspects of planning conferences.

Compensation for this position would be a combination of hourly pay as well as profit sharing. If you’re interested, please have examples of events you have planned and references that we can contact. If you’re interested please contact Jacob Mullins at jacob at venturebeat dot com and type EVENT PLANNER in the subject line.

Tech Developer

Here, we’re looking for someone who can help manage our Web development and the numerous projects we’ve envisioned for expanding our platform.

This can be full or part time, depending on the fit.

VentureBeat Business Intern (Unpaid)

VentureBeat is looking for a motivated, self-starter who has a mind for business development and administration and who wants to learn about and help manage the workings of a new media business. This position will work closely with VentureBeat’s business team to manage things such as marketing, advertising sales, sponsor management, event planning, technology project management, operations and administrative tasks. This person must be detail oriented and thrive on challenge and the thrill of absorbing new information. This job is in a fast paced atmosphere in the heart of Silicon Valley. This is a business internship - NOT editorial.

This is an UNPAID internship.

If you’re interested please submit your resume to Jacob Mullins at Jacob at venturebeat dot com and type INTERN in the subject line.

Writers

We’re also looking for full-time writers, contributing writers and writing interns. You can be focused on clean-tech, mobile or other subjects related to tech start-up innovation, and can be based in the valley, New York, or elsewhere.

If you’re interested, please submit your resume to Matt at venturebeat dot com and type EDITORIAL WRITER in the subject line.
