Knewton raises $2.5 million for education services software

Knewton has raised $2.5 million in a first round of funding to invest in its education services software, VentureBeat has learned.

The New York company is in stealth mode. Its investors include Accel London II, First Round Capital II, Jose Ferreira of New York, Thomas Trent Gegax of New York, and Josh Kopelman of New York.

Jose Ferreira, an officer at Knewton, declined to comment on the funding.
