MobileBeat2008 voting continues; Jeff Brody and Michael Bayle added to conference lineup

We’ve had considerable interest in the voting for best mobile company since we opened the process Friday.

Readers have also submitted dozens of write-in candidates for the nominee list, and our internal panel is busy sifting through them to make sure they qualify for addition. We’ll be adding the companies as soon as we can (in the final tally, we’ll also try to take into account the fact they got listed late.)

The launch of the 3G iPhone next month (our MobileBeat2008 conference on July 24 will follow the launch by a couple of weeks), and the emergence of the open Google Android platform appears to be whipping up considerable interest in the sector. Applications are emerging left and right.

If you missed our announcement, please consider voting for the best mobile startups, in both the applications and infrastructures/service categories.

Meantime, we’re announcing two more speakers (full list) at the event: Jeff Brody of Redpoint (pictured left), who was an early investor in Danger, the company founded by Andy Rubin, now of Google Android fame. Danger has had one of the few big exits for a mobile startup to date; and Michael Bayle, GM of monetization at Yahoo mobile. Yahoo is one of the biggest players in mobile, period.

Register for early-bird tickets here.

Thanks also to our sponsors so far, Sun Microsystems and Norwest Venture Parnters. If you’re interested in sponsoring the event, please contact Jacob Mullins.

Stay tuned for more.
