I have also found that the tab for top stories (the aggregated one) features less content items than the tabs for filtered content combined - so it is not a better way to consume information, it is also a way to consume more information about your friends. What I don't understand is why they remove the last status updates from the right side of the News Feed...now we see only our Status and not those from our friends... yes we can filter them but it was an extremely nice way to see them fast and easy...
