Foundry invests in Pie for easier home networking
Foundry Group has invested an undisclosed amount in Pie Digital Inc., a San Francisco-based company that markets a desktop device and software to simplify the setup and management of home networks. The company has not yet released plans for this first round of funds, which it received at the start of the month.
According to Foundry, the move fits in nicely with its theme of investing in companies aimed at improving digital aspects of life for regular people. Pie was founded in 2005 by CEO John Barnhill, president Drew Banks, and VP of marketing Jeff Hansen. Foundry managing director Jason Mendelson has taken a seat on the company’s board.
