The comments are still valid for the majority. There are exceptions of course and you knew one of them.

All too often HR people view their job as to protect the company from the employees.

CEOs do care about the bottom line and will not hesitate to layoff people as it suits the bottom line. Nowadays they come up with new euphemisms for layoffs and declare they don't have layoffs; they have people that have been made Available For Re-assignment.

Company leaders will have to worry about more of the same if they continue the same practices.

Please, please, please, please, please stop this.

The HR manager was a sweet old woman named Marilyn Lewis who never hurt a flea. The people at SiPort revered her. She was like a second mother to most of them. And the CEO, Sid Agrawal, was one of the kindest and most gentle people that God ever put on this planet. Ask anyone who worked at SiPort or anyone who's been in the Valley for any length of time.

The posts here are doing real damage to people who have been traumatized and are just trying to put their lives together. Why is it so important for so many of you to kick them when they're down?

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. This was one of those cases. It sounds like some bad things have happened to some of you, too. Let it go. Life is sweet, but it is short.

Get ready for more of these stories folks. HR people are heartless, crass and soulless cretins who carve and shave off the lives of responsible hard working families all over the country.

CEO's care only about their bottom dollar while pulling in the biggest paycheck for themselves.

Get used to it people. You ain't seen nothin' yet! Get ready for more of the same.

Brian and I went to Berkeley together in physics (he was combined physics / CS). Brian was very active in the SPS (Society of Physics Students) and CSUA (Computer Science Undergraduate Association). He was a really great guy. He will be missed.

Prayers to the families who lost their loved ones in this terrible tragic way. May they find the man who did it and justice served.
