Article claims that solution measures “how hard the person hits the keys”. This is of course absolute nonsense… First PC keyboards DON'T have pressure information. They generate “key-press” and “key-release” events. Nothing more.

Second, when typing into a web page, your computer sends events in the form of ASCII characters… not key events (unless you let things like scripts run – somewhat dangerous these days).

Worse, if, like my, you have Firefox fill in login/passwords for you, there's no typing involved and so no measuring…

We have a sub-based SaaS solution (social media monitoring) but we don't limit users on an account. Though this seems counter-productive, it works because we charge by the amount of our data the account is using. Having additional users increases the amount of usage.
This begs the bigger question in SaaS: Is a straight subscription model the best revenue model? In our case, usage billing helps us grow the customer base not only by adding new customers but by growing the size of existing accounts. This requires us to do two things well: constantly improve the usability of the application and train our users to become experts. A net win win for us and our customers.
