Spot on, Eric. One other thing about MySpace — it's full of what's essentially spam. Go to any band's Web site and what do you see in the comments? promos for OTHER BANDS' SHOWS!, many of them obviously unrelated . MySpace is a very useful tool for sampling bands and tracking their upcoming shows, but it's also turning into spam central.

Yep — you nailed it with “sharing information rather than self-expression” as the distinction. My meme (neologism, I guess) was that facebook word of prominance is “is”, where myspace really is “my”. Very difference things I think. Twitter is more a twin and threat to FB than Myspace.
