No way – the impending “Bigs” (Big Three Anniversaries) are far too significant for this to be an innocent porn crackdown (lol).

The Chinese government is at a flashpoint–there is enough combined kinetic energy in the rural protests, the corruption scandals, Tibet, Turkestan and now the growing urban unease and economic panic to blow the whole country to bits.

All this AND the Three Bigs–this will not be just any “crackdown.”

You are the type who is promoting porno, child porno, and all types of prostitution on the net. Porno is so perverse, so dug into the Internet fabric that it is virtually impossible 2 route it out. They use proxy sites to spread their tentacles all over the web. Try accessing one porno sites, 10 or more porno sites will simply pop up on your screen without yr invitation. Someone is trying to route out Lucifer from the Internet, so please give them a chance or a pat on the shoulder. What has political dissent have to do with pornography? Please, don't degrade the political dissents! Or perhaps u would like to show your 18-year old son/daughter of you having sex with their father (balling)?

Nothing's wrong with it in my book, but the Chinese government really gets its panties all up in a bunch about pornography: vestiges of their prudish Confucian upbringing, I reckon. Personally I think it's supremely hypocritical, as prostitution is so prevalent and so winked-at that it's practically legal. My point is that it's entirely plausible that the crackdown is mainly about porno and not about politics. Tellingly they didn't target sites that are known to attract all manner of political dissenters.
