Wow, Gesturetek is sounding a little desperate… if they're so buddy-buddy with Microsoft, why resort to spamming a blog?

This is a great story, but requires some clarification on GestureTek and our technologies for 3D tracking and interactive games. As the pioneer, patent-holder and world leader in video gesture control technology, GestureTek has been creating award-winning gesture controlled gaming applications for over twenty years. Early on, we developed ‘Wii-like’ adventure simulation systems where people could see their real-time video image with hand gestures instead of a remote. The technology was licensed by Sony for the EyeToy and Microsoft for the Xbox 360.

GestureTek has been doing breakthrough 3D depth sensing development work for over nine years, and has multiple patents backing this up. Our custom 3D tracking and control software is used as a gaming interface. It is also used by electronic equipment manufacturers to enable users to control television sets and other devices with hand gestures instead of button presses. The software recognizes virtually any pose or gesture, including swipes, waves, finger points, etc. GestureTek's other 3D tracking applications include full-body avatar control, two-handed and multi-touch control and hand tracking for 360º navigation control (replacing a joystick).

I'd love to one day toss my 3 remote controls and completely control my TV and Xbox 360 with gestures. I hope this tech can be made to work with Win7.

I wonder how far off this day will be…
