Calling all game startups: Stand up and get noticed at GamesBeat 09
If you’re a gaming startup, VentureBeat wants to hear from you. As part of our GamesBeat 09 conference coming up on March 24, we’re throwing a competition to find the most promising startup. The competition is dubbed Who’s Got Game?, and the winner will be announced at the conference.
The only criteria for entering: Your company should be interesting, fresh and in the startup phase.
Be sure to fill out the contest entry form now, since the deadline — 3 pm on March 6 — isn’t far off. (Yes, that March 6 deadline is an extension from what we previously announced.)
Our conference advisory board, made up of game industry veterans and investors, will screen all the contende
rs and narrow the field down to seven finalists.
All finalists will receive a free ticket to GamesBeat 09 and will have a five-minute speaking slot during our “Who’s Got Game?” presentation, which will be moderated by Jamil Moledina, director of game outreach at EA Partners. We expect to notify all finalists of their standing by March 10.
The winning company will be chosen, from that pool of finalists, by VentureBeat’s panel of judges, including myself, Moledina, Eric Goldberg of Crossover Technologies; James Cham of Bessemer Venture Partners, and Kevin Bachus, co-creator of the Xbox.
This is a great opportunity for all you game entrepreneurs out there to mingle with the movers and shakers of the game industry. And it’s a great opportunity for the rest of us to get a look at what companies and innovations are coming down the pipeline. We’re hoping to see many of you there.
