Join us (virtually) for Monday's Apple keynote

Expectations for new product announcements at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference are relatively low — particularly since chief executive Steve Jobs is still on leave for health reasons, and the company’s marketing chief Phil Schiller will be giving the keynote speech in his place. But the WWDC keynote is where Apple normally makes its biggest announcements of the year, and hey, the company could always surprise us.

VentureBeat writers Dean Takahashi, Paul Boutin, and I will at the Moscone Convention Center covering the speech, and we plan to liveblog it in our WWDC 2009 room on FriendFeed, where you can post comments, ask questions, and heckle us as we write. The speech begins at 10am Pacific time on Monday, but the three of us will be popping in sporadically before then.

(Also, for those of you who think reading a liveblog is a pain, don’t worry — we’ll highlight the big news in separate blog posts too.)
