Makes sense. Twitter is far superior way of sharing information with people you dont know. But wathcing TV for entertainment is best when sharing it with close mates.

None of compete's numbers can even begin to include API traffic, and as more and more people use API clients, the traffic will appear to slip away from the complete / alexa counts.

Hi Stephen,

I still use Face book & My space to connect with my dharma friends. We're pretty spread out over the country and it's the best way (so far) to find out how everyone is doing, who's had babies, etc. Some of us (like me) post longer poems (not mine!) & other spiritual posts. I also can keep up with what my nieces & nephews are up to (sometimes scary but I've got to keep remember I was scary to my elders at that age, just indifferent ways).

I asked on Twitter the other day if people were still using Facebook, as I don't find myself going back there much. The response was people found Twitter more fun but yes Facebook was still important.

It made me realise that I went off Facebook because I got tired of the app noise, and because a lot was just chatter, where my twitter friends give me info ...

That probably is why John above says Twitter is "microblogging", but it certainly still about social networking to.

I do get however that facebook has provided me much deeper connection with people than twitter has to date.

My only wish was that face book would allow me to add my offline friends and talk to them through that one interface not just people that have said it ok to talk. Many of my offline friends refuse to join any off them meaning I can't consolidate my personal communication around one app other than email.
