Kleiner Perkins backs former CBS mobile chief

cyriac-roeding-oCyriac Roeding was the head of mobile at CBS and more recently an entrepreneur in residence at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Roeding’s first startup of his own, a stealth company called Cross-Platform Corp, has raised $2.5 million from KPCB, angel investor Reid Hoffman, and other investors. Moconews.net speculates that the company may be iPhone-related, because the company’s SEC filings list Matt Murphy, who handles KCPB’s iFund, as a board member.

Matt Murphy will speak at MobileBeat 2009 on Thursday, July 16th at the Parc 55 hotel in San Francisco. Tickets are now sold out, sorry.
