Use Cc:Betty to follow MobileBeat 2009 on the iPhone
Virtual assistant Cc:Betty started out by organizing the information in your email, but chief executive Michael Cerda says the vision goes far beyond that — starting with the Twitter integration launched last week. It looks like Cc:Betty isn’t limiting itself to standard web access either, since the service just launched an iPhone-friendly mobile site.
You can watch Cerda describe the Palo Alto, Calif., company at the DEMO conference in this video, but the basic idea is that when you copy emails to “betty@ccbetty.com,” you can then visit the Cc:Betty site to see the entire conversation, with relevant content like links, images, and locations highlighted. Now you can just point the iPhone’s Safari browser at Cc:Betty to view the conversation in a layout that makes conversations easy-to-navigate on a phone’s smaller screen. That means you can follow Cc:Betty conversations even when you’re away from your computer.
Case in point: VentureBeat’s MobileBeat 2009 conference in San Francisco today. VentureBeat Editor Matt Marshall and I have been posting comments and images to the MobileBeat 2009 mailspace, so if you click on that link in your iPhone (or computer) and enter your email address, you can follow along. The site doesn’t work as well on other phones, though Cerda says he’s also working on compatibility with other smartphones.
Cc:Betty has raised a $1.5 million seed round from Venrock and assorted angel investors.
