The benefits of failure

Failure is never fun, but it’s not something you should live in fear of. JLABS CEO Judy Estrin, in an entrepreneurial thought leader lecture given at Stanford University, notes that when they’re not given the opportunity to fall short of new goals, engineers and thinkers are incapable of setting their sights high. Failure isn’t permanently fatal, either. Silicon Valley is a forgiving place. If you have a great idea, you’re often given credit just for stretching and broadening new notions into the marketplace.
