DEMO: Anaplan helps businesses connect their applications

anaplan_logoAnaplan offers a range of online applications that it says will make it faster for you collaborate and work on business data. It uses “snap plug-and-play” architecture to automatically connect applications. Its tools include revenue, sales, and cash forecasts; project plans; employee management; budgets; and demand plans. Pricing starts at $49 per month for three users.

The company is launching at DEMOfall 09, the technology conference co-produced by VentureBeat. During its presentation, Anaplan compared its architecture to building something with LEGOs — you just snap all the different pieces (in this case, different business applications) together. For example, the company demonstrated updating a sales forecasting document for 150 sales representatives and 1,200 products, and updates only took a few seconds to propagate across the entire document, and also to update a separate profit and loss document. (The presenter kept saying, “That’s a huge wow!” but the audience was less vocally enthusiastic.)

Anaplan has raised a seed round of $600,000 and also received a bridge loan from its angel investors $1.4 million. It’s based in Redwood City, Calif.http://c.brightcove.com/services/viewer/federated_f8/980795693
