Google search marketing gets all touchy-feely

Google hasn’t traditionally engaged in large-scale advertising campaigns. Instead, it has relied mainly on word of mouth to become the $180 billion company it is today. However in the last year, the company has rolled out bigger and bigger paid advertising efforts (as many mature brands start to do). That includes the Go Google campaign back in August, promoting Google apps as a reliable alternative to Microsoft Office for businesses.

Yesterday, Google rolled out a series of videos with the slogan “Search On” promoting Googling! They include an adorable one about falling in love in Paris, another video on how to use Google to become Batman, and one retracing Jack Kerouac’s route in “On the Road.”

    Loved all three videos but mainly because they didn't feel like advertising at all. They seemed more like educating you in ways to use search.
