Apple app store also gets a bump from Black Friday, with 43 % more traffic
Retailers in malls weren’t the only ones to get a boost from Black Friday.
Apple’s app store traffic rose 43 percent during Thanksgiving week compared to the first three weeks of the month, according to MobClix. App usage rose 59 percent on the actual day, up from a 34 percent boost the year before.
iPhone users flocked to shopping apps like Amazon Mobile and Yowza, as consumers hunted for deals in new places outside newspaper inserts and TV advertising by shopping online, and checking commercial Facebook Pages and Twitter feeds.
