DEMO: Massive disruption starts Monday

We’ve got a very impressive set of companies launching at DEMO this spring — they’re better than I’ve ever seen in past years.

I’m more excited than ever about the trends of innovation we are seeing in Silicon Valley and beyond right now. And this conference — just next week in Palm Springs — is going to highlight them all in a brand new format. We’re breaking companies in key sector trends: Mobile, social media, consumer, cloud and enterprise. An all-star group of experts and investors will be on hand to provide insight.

Here’s just a taste of what we’ll be seeing: We are going to abolish the fax machine for good, (Office Space style), reinvent how movies are watched on your TV, overthrow OpenTable’s stale, opaque model for serving restaurants, and unveil cool new web development techniques that will dispence with CSS. We’ll see an iPad application showing unprecedented voice and content collaboration before the iPad is even out on the market, and we’ll unveil revolutionary image sensor technology that makes camera images even sharper. That’s just the beginning of it. I could go on about all the great back-end stuff we’re going to see as well, such as database scaling in the cloud, and new database building tools, remarkably easy soft-phone calling, contact management tools that exploit the cloud and handshake with all your networks in a stunningly easy way, a personal set of clouds for everything you do….there’s so much cool stuff here, if you’re in the media and covering tech, you should book a ticket to come. And if you can’t come, contact Lisa Peterson, who will set you up with a way to follow along remotely.

I look forward to seeing you down in Palm Springs! There’s going to be great networking too, as usual, with jam sessions, and late nights at the bar.

If you’re an entrepreneur, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with other cool stuff you are up to in the meantime. Next fall, we’re bringing DEMO to Silicon Valley for the first time in it’s history, and it’s going to be big!
