CoolSystems raises $2.25M to heal sports injuries
CoolSystems, maker of medical devices for sports injuries, has brought in $2.25 million of an expected $5 million in debt, according to a filing with the SEC. Based in Alameda, Calif., the company’s Game Ready therapy system can be used for rehab after orthopedic surgeries.
Maxwell Trust, MedVenture Associates and Roda Group are backers of the company, which last received $2 million in 2009. According to the CoolSystems web site, star athletes including Steve Young, Jerry Rice and Troy Aikman are also part-owners of the company.
