Invuity raises $13.2M for medical illumination instruments
Medical device company Invuity has raised $13.2 million in a third round of funding, according to a filing with the SEC. Backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the startup develops illumination technology for minimally invasive surgeries. By integrating its lighting solutions into conventional medical instruments, Invuity reduces shadows and reflections for surgeons. Based in San Francisco, the company last raised $8.2 million in 2007.
