Travelstormer looks to make group travel super easy
Remember all those great spring break trips you took in college with your friends? In addition to the crazy memories, you probably also remember the hassle of trying to coordinate a vacation with a group of people. Looking to make the process super easy, a new startup Travelstormer launched today offering several online tools for managing and arranging group travel.
Travelstormer is more than just a management tool for organizing and arranging group travel. The service really starts the process from the beginning, offering groups a way to engage and interact from the very first question — which is usually “Where are we going?” Rather than countless group emails, Travelstormer gives groups a unique forum to discuss ideas, vote on them, and even collect valuable information like flight numbers and expenses (the kind of info that often times gets lost in your email). Rather than just one or a few people arranging a trip, now the whole group can participate and help.
Any travel agent could be considered competition. However they don’t allow the pre-collaboration or decision-making that makes Travelstormer so attractive. Other online sites, like GroupTravel.com, claim to help with group travel planning as well, but in reality just offer group discounts rather than the actual tools to plan.
While the London-based company, founded in 2009, is just releasing its product out into the wild, it is already making feature additions. According to the company’s blog, the decision feature, which allows users in a group to ask a question, will also have a “public” option, making your travel question available to other Travelstormer members to see and answers. That gives users a chance to crowd-source answers to questions the original group might not have solved on its own.
