@sean: It sounds like the 500 Startups direction is to attract designers who want to be angel investors. As a design-focused founder myself, I can attest that the real challenge is building a technical team that can bring design to reality.

Sounded really strong until the end: Why are they seeking contributions of time or money from investors who are top-notch designers? If they're helping designer-led startups, those startups don't need design advisors as much as they need advisors with expertise in non-design areas…
