During Electronic Arts‘ press conference today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, EA chief operating officer Peter Moore and DICE¬†executive producer Patrick Bach talked about Battlefield 3’s impressive player count and unveiled Battlefield 3 Premium, a collection of map packs, exclusive items, and customization options.

“With 1.6 trillion bullets fired, Battlefield 3 has over 15 million players worldwide,” Moore said. This is a staggering ¬†lead and soldier count since the massive military shooter’s launch on October 25, 2011.

As for Premium, players trade $50 for a “truly amazing amount” of extra content. In addition to guaranteeing a two-week early access to all upcoming map packs, Premium includes stat resets, unique knives and dog tags, exclusive events, and server queue priority.

PlayStation 3 Premium purchasers also immediately deploy into Close Quarters, BF3’s newest map pack. PC and Xbox 360 gamers follow suit one week later.
