Minecraft for Xbox 360 sells 3 million

Minecraft,  a game that appeals to everyone’s creative side with its block-building mechanics, was already a massive hit before Microsoft decided to craft a version for its Xbox Live Arcade online store. Well, it looks like a hit is a hit no matter what platform it’s on. Minecraft: Xbox 360 edition has sold more than 3 million copies.

This news comes straight from game creator Marcus Persson (also known as Notch), who Tweeted this morning, “I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!” Minecraft has now sold more than 10 million copies across all platforms, according to Games Industry International.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been breaking records since its release in May, making it one of the most successful downloadable titles in the system’s history.
