Cognitive dissonance now comes in the form of video game art

Etsy artist/seller 9times1minus1 knows how to subtly enrage a whole bunch of people. These retro-game-inspired prints at first look odd and then look downright wrong as you realize that the characters don't match up with their iconic level designs.

Each print is $25 for a 16×20 image. While these mixed-up pictures are clever, looking at them for too long is slightly uncomfortable…like your brain simply refuses to accept how the scenes are composed.
