Bitmob Wants You: To write about indie games

This post has been edited by the GamesBeat staff. Opinions by GamesBeat community writers do not necessarily reflect those of the staff.

It's been a while, hasn't it? We haven't had a Bitmob Wants You challenge for several weeks, since we've been right in the middle of the slowest time of year for video-game releases. But no more daydreaming or cloud-watching — it's time to write!

And what better topic to write about than the rise of indie games? From mega-hits like Minecraft to tiny (and terrifying) projects like Slender, indie titles are everywhere. And we'd like your thoughts on the phenomenon.

Here's how this will work:

1. Write any article related to indie games. It could be a review, your thoughts on the industry as a whole, a single experience within one title…whatever you want.

2. Tag your article with "BWY Indie" and be sure to include tags for any games you mention.

3. Post your article on Bitmob by Thursday, Aug. 16.

And that's it — so shake those summer doldrums and get writing!
