Pokémon trainers who get a headstart on their next adventure will find a Mythical Pokémon in their party.
Those who purchase Pokémon Black/White Version 2 from launch until Nov. 12 can receive Genesect for free through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Back for a second time, Team Plasma has resurrected and modified the Pokémon from a 300-million-year-old fossil. Players who own this Bug/Steel-type can use the move Techno Blast, which is unique to Genesect.
This Pokémon is part of the fifth generation that began with last year’s Black and White, which gave early buyers access to Victini. The Mythical Water/Fighting-type Keldeo was available for Black and White last month via a distribution event.
Genesect appears as No. 300 in the updated Unova Pokédex. Also new to the region are Black Tower and White Treehollow, randomly generated additions to Black City and White Forest that allow players to battle high-level Pokémon for experience points and items.
The upcoming games are for the Nintendo DS, 3DS, and 3DS XL.
