The Revert returns to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD in December

The time of endless combos is nearly upon us, as publisher Activision releases Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 HD Revert Pack for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD on Dec. 4.

The add-on content will go for $4.99 on PlayStation Network and Steam and for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade. THPS HD is available now on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $15 and $10 on Steam.

The Revert Pack adds three levels from THPS3 (Airport, Los Angeles, and Canada) as well as the Revert move itself. Although, Activision and developer Robomodo will add the Revert into the original levels for free as part of an update that is due soon.

The Revert is the move that allows combos to continue by tying vertical moves together with manuals. If that’s all street-Greek to you, just know that allows for gigantic scores that eclipse what was possible in THPS2. The move was never a part of the original THPS or THPS2, which THPS HD is based on. THPS3 introduced the revert and now that the HD remake is getting levels from that game, the revert is coming along for the grind.

“It’s been incredible to watch fans of the original THPS series and new generations of gamers embrace Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD. The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 HD Revert Pack DLC adds even more of this timeless gameplay, with the best levels from THPS3,” Tony Hawk said in a statement, “We’re adding the Revert as part of our title update in order to thank fans for being so patient. Get ready for some insanely high scores.”

New skaters are also packaged along with this DLC. Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, and Metallica members James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo are all playable. Metallica is also lending its song “All Nightmare Long” to the soundtrack.

Skateboarding — so metal.
