VentureBeat is hiring a talented professional to join our sales team in building our fast-growing media company. This job is at the heart of our organization: Sales of advertising and sponsorships for VentureBeat’s website and events ensures our success and continued growth. We’re looking for someone who can work directly with our VP of Sales to blow out our business next year — and beyond.
You’ll assist in almost all major aspect of our business, from event sponsor coordination, communicating with clients, developing proposals, managing campaigns and reporting. There are significant growth opportunities in this position.
VentureBeat is a popular news site, with substantial traffic and industry-leading events. But behind the scenes, we’re still a small company that entrusts responsibility to all of our team members. VentureBeat’s media business deals with the Silicon Valley ecosystem, so working here is also an awesome way to get front-row access to how this this dynamic region works.
We provide a fun, energetic startup environment in downtown San Francisco, along with panoramic views from the 32nd floor of our 50 California St. offices in San Francisco.
This is a paid position, but no benefits — although there’s potentially a way to a full-time job later on if you show your stuff.
As for you: You’re a highly intelligent, efficient go-getter who likes to multi-task and communicate well in a team-environment. You have a general interest in sales, technology, and have mastery of productivity suites (such as Microsoft Office). Ideally, you’ll have had several years of experience working in a professional office environment at a publishing company in ad sales.
